Welcome to the new website of Schalke Rovers Football Club.

Founded in 1995, Schalke Rovers are a friendly, progressive and successful amateur football club based on the Northside of Dublin. We have two Men’s teams playing on Saturdays in the UCFL and an Over 35′s team who play in the AFL.

Schalke Rovers has excellent training and match day facilities (photo above). Winter training is held on Ireland’s best synthetic grass pitch. An article about the facility is here. All of our facilities have parking and are well served by public transport.

Schalke Rovers 1st and 2nd teams play their home games in Father Collins Park, Donaghmede.
The Over 35′s play their home games on Pitch 32, Saint Anne’s Park, Raheny.
Winter training is held at Clontarf Sports Grounds.

Schalke Rovers Seek New Players!

New players always welcome.

Schalke Rovers are always looking for players who can improve our first and second teams. It is never too late in the season to join. We have fantastic matchday and training facilities charge low fees and try to play good passing football.

We train on Mondays and Wednesdays and play matches on Saturday afternoons. In particular we would like to talk to attacking players who know where the net is and good centre halves with good experience/ability.

Table Quiz Fundraiser

Schalke Rovers are holding a fundraising Table Quiz & Raffle on Thursday, Feb 23.

The venue is upstairs at the Elphin pub in Baldoyle.
The cost is €10 per person or €40 for a table of 4
Start time is 7pm

Free parking is available.

With club funds being stretched at the moment, we expect everyone to either turn up or pay for a ticket.

The 1st team play in the AFL Division 2N. Matches are on Saturday afternoons. Dave Elliott is the manager for the 2011/12 season. The Home pitch is Pitch 32, Saint Anne’s Park, Raheny.

Schalke Rovers Annual Fees

Rather than having monies collected every week we offer a full year subscription which covers everything from training fees for astro, to match day costs, insurance, league fees. No other payments are made by players except this all inclusive fee.

Schalke Rovers Committee work hard to ensure fees are as cheap as possible.

This money is generally payable to the club in two instalments the first of which is due before 1 September.

There are 3 fee categories:

€230 Over 23 and working fulltime

€140 Over 35s

€130 Unemployed / working part-time/ student team members
€80 Under 23 whether employed/unemployed.

If you are unable to pay in 2 installments please email regarding a payment plan
if you are unsure as to what category you are please email me also

It is imperative we get the 1st installment of fees in as soon as possible.

Payment Methods

If you use online banking please use this payment method. Email or text me for the sort code and account no. Please use your FULL NAME as reference when paying online.

You can also pay by cash. Please give any cash to a committee member at Training or on Matchday. (I may be appointing a member from each team to collect cash on my behalf if I’m not at training)
